Larry Mitchell – Guitar Extraordinaire
I met Larry Mitchell back in the late 80’s. He’s a very soft-spoken gentleman and then you see him on stage with his guitar in hand and he instantly becomes electrifying and mesmerizing. You can’t keep your eyes off his playing. Larry rocks the guitar like nobody’s business.
Larry is a Grammy award-winning producer, engineer, and performer who has toured with Tracy Chapman, Billy Squier, Ric Ocasek, and Miguel Bose. Larry skillfully weaves guitar textures that show his true talents not only as a solo artist but also as an ensemble player.
Larry has released 7 solo records and won a San Diego Music Award for the best pop-jazz artist. He also won 26 New Mexico Music Awards as a producer-engineer in various categories.
Larry’s unique style of rock, funk, jazz, and blues will leave you hooked. His current band The Larry Mitchell Trio perform Prince-inspired funk rhythms and melodic soundscapes for your listening pleasure.
